DETAILS
- It is a combination of both reactive and dissipative type muffler. Main technique used for sound reduction was flowmaster techniques.
- Designing of the muffler was done in AutoCAD for 2D and CATIA V5 for 3D.
- The muffler was made opening type as to display it during the presentation, thus we needed to provide a gasket and a sleeve in-order to avoid exxhaust gas leakage through the gaps.
- The main case was fabricated in GI sheet and gas welding was done.
- The components that was included in the muffler for noise reduction was activated carbon, wire mesh, properly designed baffles, perforated pipes, narrow tubes, glass wool and nano void tubes(which won't be a part of the sale. Instead perforated tube will be provided).
- From experimental results it was found that the brake thermal efficiency and the volumetric efficiency did not drop. But there was a good reduction in the noise output which was measured using a sound level meter.
- Other than the fabricated project work project report(soft copy), CATIA V5 design & AutoCAD design.
